Some Terrible News...

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post. I recieved news this week that Antonio Raspa, one of the men behind Il Vespro publishing and the “In Bocca” series has passed away. This is truly tragic.

I’m unsure exactly how old he was at the time of passing, but I do know that he was with friends and family, and had lived a very long and rewarding life, including giving me and many people something truly priceless.

The news came from a friend I reciently made, Al Lucca, who was a personal friend of Mr. Raspa. It’s a true shame becuase we were planning on meeting in Italy to interview Mr. Raspa about the books, something I woudl have truly loved.

Besides this and many other book series, Mr. Raspa was actively curating a beautiful food and culture destination called La Valle dell’Olmo. The project will continue under the guidence of their directors and I do hope to visit next time I am in Italy to pay my respects.

Rest in peace Antonio, I wish I could have thanked you personally for this amazing gift, but know you will live on in each wonderful bite.
