"Disco Sauce" Documentary in the New York Times: writer Eric Kim explores Penne Alla Vodka origin.

It’s wonderful to be able to add to the conversation of where certain culinary masterpieces originate, so I was pleased as pasta to find one of my favorite writers Eric Kim mention Disco Sauce: The True Story of Penne Alla Vodka in a recent New York Times article:

“Some might assume that penne alla vodka is an ancient Roman pasta, but it gained popularity only in the ’70s and ’80s. The documentary “Disco Sauce: The Unbelievable True Story of Penne Alla Vodka” explores the dish’s many origin stories, from Italy to the United States, but none are definitive.”

While we may never know the true origin of this amazing dish, I think we have found the best version of it through hardball investigative journalism. For that, you will have to watch the doc.
